Our Story
DueDrop was born out of frustration. Vince Smith, our founder, spent years doing what millions of business owners do every week: writing "friendly reminder" emails, making awkward phone calls, and watching cash flow tighten while trying not to damage relationships with clients he actually liked.
The breaking point came during a late night in 2023, crafting yet another payment reminder at 11 PM instead of spending time with family. That's when he decided there had to be a better way.
He built DueDrop to solve this problem not just for himself, but for every small business owner who deserves to focus on the work instead of chasing payments.

To give every small business owner their time back by automating payment follow-ups with AI that maintains the personal touch that builds lasting client relationships.
A note from Vince
Every tool I tried for payment reminders had the same idea: write one template, then send some version of it to everyone. That never worked for me. The client I'd worked with for five years and the one I'd just met got the same stiff "please remit payment" email, and the reminder usually showed up right after they'd already told me the check was on its way.
So I built DueDrop around a few rules I wanted for my own business:
- —It should sound like me. Each follow-up is drafted from the conversation I've already had with that client, not a template.
- —I see it first. Nothing goes out until I've read it, unless I've decided a client doesn't need that.
- —It comes from my inbox. Clients reply to me, not to a no-reply address.
- —It knows when to stop. When a client replies, or the invoice is paid, the follow-ups stop.
DueDrop is young, and I read every message that comes in. If you try it and something's off, or you'd like to tell me how you handle late payments today, I'd genuinely like to hear it.
